Pedals moving, gears turning, wheels spinning. Eli was on the job, making his runs around West City as he threw paper at people's doors and into people's mailboxes. it was a bit hot out that day, and halfway through the run Eli had been out of breath and sweating like a mule. He decided to stop for a moment under a tree just off tot he side of the sidewalk, parking his bike next to it's trunk.
"Let's see... how many more do I have to go?"
He panted, sitting down at the trunk's base and started looking over the remaining routes on a small map he had. Eli took a moment to look around himself to get a better understanding of where he was. Well, it wasn't heavily populated, and the homes seemed to have a bit of land around them. He was near the southern outskirts it looked it.
"Hmm, all right, I have less than I thought. Good, I'll just take a break here for a while." The young boy decided to lean back against the tree, tilting his paperboy hat over his eyes in an attempt to take a nap. he tossed, turned, and after three minutes gave up on the attempt. Frustrated, he sighed and picked up one of the newspapers to read.
"Perhaps it'll have something interesting in it." The youth remarked with enthusiasm as he started flipping through. Ads here, sports stuff there, a few gun adds here and there. Most of it obviously bored the kid as his frowned more and more as time went by. by the time he hit the back of the magazine he was already looking grinchy. Then, the last bit on the Magazine hit him. He noticeably lit up as he started repeating part of the article.
"... 21st World Martial Arts Tournament being held within four months, contestants still needed! Call this number yada yada yada." He tossed the newspaper back into the basket on his bike and sprung up, shooing back on his runs with a smile on his face; He knew what he wanted to do for the next couple of months.

Eli peddled through the rest of West city in a hasty manner, throwing papers left and right as he passed by houses. One man was stepping outside his house at the right time to be smacked with one of the incoming papers. He was enraged enough to yell, but didn't do any more than that, shook his fist, and headed on his way. The boy himself didn't realize it at the time and kept peddling away.
"This will be something fun to work on while I'm also doing the job and going to school." He talked to himself some more, tossing another paper in the process. The last paper in the process. Once he realized this, he stood on the pedals and started tearing pavement as he sped up.
I better get home and tell mother about this! Maybe she can help!
The ambition was not wearing at all as he turned into the post office and returned the uniform. Ringo, his boss, was waiting for him next to the locker. With a big smile on his face, Eli put away all of his uniform articles and had on his suit. The older man gave him a curious look about, wrinkling his nose at the excitement.
"What's on your mind now, E? Have some new ambition to fulfill?"
"You could say that, yes! I'll see ya later, Mister Ringo. The youth replied to him in kind, giving him a wave before bolting out the door. Ringo was shocked to see him go, and held a hand out as if to try and stop him.
"Wait, boy! You forgot your payment!" He yelled out at him. It didn't take a second for the young lad to open the door slightly, blue eyes blinking at the old man. "Don't worry about that sir, I'll pick it up tomorrow! Have a good day.
Eli, never the one to pass up early payment before, stirred a bit of confusion in the old man. He couldn't refuse him however, and just waved as he took off again. Eli got onto his bike and rode off into the sunset... the direction his house is in.
"Wait until Mother hears of this!"
