History of Events

Allow us to shed some light on the story of Rising. It's very much a different world than the Canon Dragon ball, but it still hold's it's ground; Events that happen in Dragon ball are likely to still occur, along with arcs made by both players AND Staff.




The year is 749. The 21st World Martial Arts Tournament is coming up soon, and people all across the lands will be coming to participate for bragging rights and the prize. 500,000 Zeni! Many have trained years for the Tournament, while others are just getting started. Presently, this has been the most hyped tournament since he first one had take place ages ago. There are other forces at work on Earth, however, as Pilaf searches for mystical items. Seven to be exact.

Pilaf was born heir to a small fortune, leading to a life of greed. During his time he accumulates several odd and unique technologies as well as procure a personal palace for himself. But the loss of his fortune slowly over time causes most of his workers to leave. This left only two who were loyal to Pilaf, Mai and Shu.

Making use of the last of his assets, Pilaf comes to learn of the existence of the Dragon Balls and starts a seemingly hopeless search for them in order to grant his one wish; to become the Emperor of Earth...

Around eighteen years ago, a massive war took place on Planet Plant between the Saiyans and the Tuffles. The conflict went on for years, but eventually ended in the defeat of the Tuffles, causing the survivors to go into hiding. The Saiyans take control of Plant, and rename it after their ruler, King Vegeta. After the Saiyans had gone into power, the Planet Trade Organization stepped in. The Saiyans briefly joined with the Planet Trade Organization…

However, King Vegeta, as well as other members of the Royalty did not hold Frieza in high regards and began to plot an insurrection. An attempted coup leaves Frieza enraged, and he slayed King Vegeta, Nappa, as well as other notable Saiyans. Frieza, however, decided to spare the Planet itself… But all PTO support had been pulled. Leaving the Saiyans stranded without means of technology.

Prince Vegeta, the son of the previous King, came to rule the Saiyans as his Father did. Noting that Tuffles had an affinity towards technology, he set a law that Saiyans must capture Tuffles alive, so that they may be used as slave labor to develop technology. Given that the Saiyans were limited in their military strength, each Saiyan was a potentially valuable asset. The next twelve years, it would be like this.

So Vegeta changed another law; normally Low Class Saiyan children would be sent off to foreign worlds in order to test their worth as soldiers. But now they are kept on Planet Vegeta, sent out in the wilderness to hunt beasts, and capture Tuffles should they have such an opportunity. He would select those that proved themselves to rise with recognition. Incentive for them to remain loyal to his cause...
